The Dugout Club

Attending a “World Series” with your son or daughter should be on EVERY Baseball Fan’s “BUCKET LIST”!!!

ESPECIALLY at AT&T Park in SF. (Because it may NEVER happen at Safeco!!)…..I’m not talking about “Behind Home Plate four rows up”…..I’m talking about just even on the streets, along the bridge, tailgaiting in the adjoining parking lot,or simply peering through the RF iron gates. (Of which they rotate every three innings.).

Many of you sent emails wondering “if I got in”….The answers are “No and Yes”….(No to Weds – inspite of our best efforts as seen in the sign – and YES on Thursday!!)…..BUT what you really need to know is that I enjoyed BOTH  DAYS spent with Jai -  in that atmosphere – immensely.

I came away from there thinking that once the “Oval Project” is well on its way, the “DUGOUT CLUB” should set two more goals….1) Get a player INTO the World Series one day AND 2) Just get a “fan”  TO a World Series one day. Both as a representatives of the  “The Dugout Club”….. Someone, PLEASE , tell me that would be impossible!!!

In order to whet some appetites to that “challenge”, I share with you a few photos below….Putting YOURSELF into the picture could be as easy as “photo shopping” yourself into there…But not as much fun of course……Maybe an easier way is a) We get a whole CLUB together to buy two “CHEAP SEASON TICKETS” to a contending team, and then we have a “raffle” amongst our group to see who gets to go as our “representative” each year…….OR b) We find a guy with contacts to MLB and tell them “what we’re about” and perhaps they extend us two tix each year…..(Hello “Jeff Z.!!)…..Hmmmmmm????

WINTERBALL 2010 SESSIONS AT THE RICHMOND OVAL – “R.O.O.T 4 BASEBALL”

October 24, 2010 4:30 pmtoDecember 12, 2010 9:00 pm

The first FULL training sessions went “pretty well” by all reports last week.

Having said that – just as with the players – we want to make sure we’re just “a little bit better” in our approach here each and every time out. To that end, the Dugout Club has had some great dialogue this week, both with the Oval and amongst ourselves. Hopefully you’ll see those changes take place this coming week. One thing that will remain constant for now, is the usage of the ENTIRE area for our groups. Something, as we move further into this, I believe we should really try to do.

We’ve also had a few more players wanting to join the mix. To that end, we’re taking steps to add instructors, as well as reviewing the way we use our “core instructors”, Jeff and Derran.

See you all this weekend..(Or most of you!!!). PLEASE vote on the Poll Question before leaving the site…I can use the help with my “picks”!!

WINTERBALL 2010 ‘OPEN HOUSE” FOR THOSE IN THE BASEBALL COMMUNITY

October 17, 2010
6:00 pmto9:00 pm

While we continue to effort having “BASEBALL” being one of the sports being presented  amongst the many others at the RICHMOND OVAL, we have arranged for an impromptu Open House for those interested in helping it become a reality.

If you’d like to be added to the “Evite” list to see what we’ve been working towards, send me an email at serj@dugoutclub.ca and we’ll get you added headed in the right direction.

This event runs shortly after the 36 players who are registered for the 8 Fall/Winter sessions have finished their Introduction Session.

Please note, this is just to see the area that we’ve set aside for “Baseball Training” and not the entire Oval.

Thanks, Serj
